Believe me Auckland has one sloppy public transport system, mostly because the planers have one track mind on building roads so cars can fill them up and then more roads need to be built.
If you are coming from overseas stay away from Auckland public transport sometimes the buses come in group lots like a "banana bunch" and when they do come if they do come before you give up, some are in a poor sate of cleanliness, either that or Aucklanders are real grubs that can almost trash a bus before each day is out, and then the graffiti you can see that everywhere, some buses are the pits, what is worse what looks like brand new trains has graffiti scratched on the glass of the windows and endless graffiti at train stations.
While the train system is going from strength to strength as they catch up on many years of neglect. There is hardly any good scenery to see from Auckland metropolitan train service just weeds and graffiti. Not to mention bus and train fares are about to take off. Most sensible visitors from overseas would get a camper van and then tour New Zealand or part of New Zealand. The national road death toll is getting lower from year to year making our roads safer.
Stick around you will read a lot more why I hate Auckland public transport with all the problems I have had and found, no wonder everyone wants to use their cars, it just beats why someone can not fix up these simple problems and get Aucklanders out of their cars. I wonder why the rest of New Zealand calls Aucklander´s "Jafa´s" I wonder if Auckland public transport had any influence on that choice? I guess only those "Ojay´s" will know.
