Take me home pleasehome please

Hello,

A version of this web site first appeared on the 17th of May 2001, (different URL) the web site has changed a lot since then, the best change was the "Computer tips"

I am very sorry if you hate the horrible BLACK BACKGROUND page with yellow writing for the short story about this web site, But I am sure it is easier to read than some web sites I have seen, using a black background.

This web site was all done with Windows 95, 98, MS paint, HTML, Star Office 5.2, Word processor & a program called HTML Tidy.
The moving graphics from the picture above it was done with a Java applet from http://www.echoecho.com and the picture was made from a normally free standard package "Gimp" that comes with "Linux", similar to "Photoshop" in the art work it can do. (Gimp is also available for use with windows, Gimp can be down-loaded from the Internet about 10 Meg in file size) All the other pictures was done with Microsoft Paint program MS paint.

There was a very helpful TV and VCR list started in the early 1990's to keep track of New Zealand Television and Video Recorders, but then was replaced by computer links as a temporary item, then taken off because it looked too untidy and I never got any feedback on it, The story I wrote about sound detectors looked similar to the article that first appeared in a New Zealand bulletin "ETSA" Electronic Technology Service Association, for TV service workshops around New Zealand.

The "Tune in" notes were written for the New Zealand service industry to make a tune in more efficient for the workshop. A small book was made dated June 1977, I still have that book at the bench, I find it very handy only when I need it, but nobody else wished to do anything with it, so instead of my hard work going to waste I modified the text file into HTML and used it at this web site. There is more to come ........ soon, Like the computer tip page I will have to re-index soon, if you would like to join an E-mail group, for advance information, click on link below,
or to exit this page click onto the moon, top left hand corner.

If you see a gray box between the moon and my story or the green picture missing, let me know and I might be able to help you fix it.

On Thursday 15th May 2008 (about 6pm) I received a E-mail from a loose cannon, no Name, no E-mail address, lots of abuse about this web site and no mention of "The cheque is in the mail" I gave it a quick read then deleted it, were it should of gone after the loose cannon write it, honestly some people need to get a life. mind you if I had of posted it on the web site it could of added to the humor. There was the comment about my spelling on the web site, which has to be total bull, before I post my pages on the web site I make sure the spelling checker has done it´s thing. I tried to read the Email with interest and give it some merit but to come to the conclusion it came from a loose cannon as they gave no example of misspelled word, I must add since then I found a mistake were I said "ago" and it should of read "a go" .
All jokes aside, the Email highlighted the comment "if your computer freezes up because of this web site" I suppose I have extended the truth a little here, but there is a web site from one of the local radio stations, out of all the web I visit that web site is the only one were my web browser plays up and so does the rest of the computer, before long I have to reboot the computer to clear the problems. Now as for my grammar, what a worry but there was no mention of bad grammar in that E-mail.

From Eric Richards.

Footnote: It appears that this page is not clear to some people I get feedback from, as one person put it, "Get rid of that stupid graffiti on your home-page" and there will always be someone will pick on something to complain about. This web site was intended to be put up with the minimum of Internet tools and using more skill than money, The code used on this web site made using "notepad" or "wordpad". it complies with Internet web standards, unlike some other code writers who think the code should be written just to make their web site look good, even if it fails the web standards.
I would of liked to have that rippling water effect on the home-page but because it takes too long to get running, I put it on this sub-page.

So what would you suggest then for replacing the "Graffiti" with on the main page? A picture of a nude woman, I don't think so. The finale note is if your computer freezes up because of this web site (which I don't think should happen) I would like to know, otherwise be very grateful for what you get, as you might end up with something worse.
