WHY: THE GREAT PAPER CUSTOMER RIP OFF!!!! T.G.P.C.R.O.

In the 1990´s I used to advertise in the local newspaper for work, I always went to the newspaper reception, composted a advertisement, sometimes taking the advice of the person behind the desk to save a bit of money by shortening words, whatever. Pay the money and then I would be on my way. The advertisement would go out in the paper ......... and within a week or so a re-bill would come in the post, I always thought excuse me I always pay that as I place the advertisement ......... so I would ignore it ......... no such luck, another re-bill would come ......... Then I would have to telephone them, they always had the same line "forget it then" strange that, I noticed the re-billing stopped until the next time I placed a new advertisement.

Well near the end of 2006 having learned my lesson, I wanted to place another advertisement in the newspaper, I thought of the local papers and quickly gave it up as a bad idea (as you have read above) and went for the bigger paper, if at first you don´t succeed try again, WRONG!!! within a few weeks of going to the newspaper reception and paying about $78 cash, you have got it, I was re-billed AGAIN, what is it with newspapers ?? I have paid one or two of the following, cash, E.F.P.O.S., credit card to my supermarket, doctors, dentist, etc, were they all have my home address since I have been first double bill by the newspaper, I must of paid well over ten thousand dollars (I hate to guess) and I have never been re-billed or double billed and that is not all I have had a number of doctors over the last few year and a few dentist for that matter, WHY IS IT THAT THE NEWSPAPERS ARE THE EXCEPTION? What is it that the newspaper can not get their act together, or is it that the newspaper just hopping that you will loose your receipt that says "thank you for your payment" so they can get a bit more money out of you.

The History,
23 November 2006 I went to their office and paid cash for the advertisements and got a receipt that says "- Thank you for your payment - " for $78.30.
03 December 2006 got a bill (re-bill) from the newspaper.
17 December 2006 got a second re-bill from the newspaper.
01 April 2007 got a letter from the debt collector. (some sick April fools joke)
02 May 2007 got a second letter from the debt collector.

Whenever I rang them, their accounts department they had closed for the day, very convenient I don´t see why I should ring them when I should be working during the day.

WHATEVER THE REASON, IT HAS PUT ME OFF, I HAVE NEVER BROUGHT ANOTHER NEWSPAPER SINCE THE DEBT COLLECTORS THREATENED TO SAVAGE MY CREDIT RATING, funny that I wonder why the newspaper are indicating their sales are dropping off, with free give aways from time to time, tring to lure you into taking out a subscription with them.

But it did have a positive note, I requested a file that help determine what kind of credit rating I get, telling them my "newspaper story" as the reason for the request, and found a error in there which has since been corrected.

Why: The "wait" impatient pedestrians?

Why is it pedestrians love hammering the button to cross a controlled pedestrian crossing? Get a life! The engineer who design the system at a intersection is not going have a "pedestrian presser" counter, shortening the wait time if the button is pressed a hundred times in ten seconds, once you have pressed that button, you have done your bit. The only time I have found the wait time varies is when school is open or on school holidays, there seems to be a difference in traffic on the road as parents drop/pick up their children at school. Not only that every individual intersection can be controlled by a network of neighboring intersections.
